as per the"dictionary of modern political idiolagies"written by m.a.riff fascism was born after the 1848 french revolution.it came to dominance in nazi germany and mussolinis italy.the nazis tried to seek a partnership with consevatives but failed because the basis of being a conservative was to have the people bare the responsibility of the individual while fascism made the individual responsible for the advancement of the state.the jews were a large part of the conservative movement which played a part in their extermination by the nazis.Instead the nazis turned toward the middle and lower middle class which was the majority and gave the nazis their power.these classes were made up of communists, socialists and liberals.these people led to the deaths of 22 million people.Conservatism of today is defind as a movement that adheres to the U.S.constitution as it was rattified but allows for gradual change according to the environmentof the current era.so,who are the fascists?lmao

Nonsense. Conservatism, as presented today, in no way resembles the core conservative values as the movement defined them in previous decades.

Less government intrusion, smaller government, less foreign entanglements, and fiscal responsibily were all hallmarks of what conservatives claim to be.

Intrusive state-police tactics, overbearing military, use of demogougery, scapegoating and fear mongering to take and hold power, and stripping of individual rights are the hallmarks of the current administration, and are more in keeping with facist tendencies.

If you support this adminstration and their actions, you neither support true conservatism, nor the Constitution. Just because you say you do, doesn't mean that's actuality. Actions speak louder than words, and if you claim to support the actions of the current administration, then the history supports those who label you, not the other way around.

Your rationale is specious. Conservatives come in more than one color. It WAS nationalist conservatives who favored Hitler's rise--especially in 1934 (when Hitler was elected Chancellor) and the Nazis arrested and executed socialists/communists in the 30's and 40's. To suggest that the Nazis were "liberal" is to turn history on its head (perhaps the concept of National Socialism confuses you). Moreover, Mussolini's Italy was largely supported by conservative industry owners. You have a poor grasp on the history of fascism.

That said, however, as a liberal, I rarely call anyone a fascist--some of my family was killed in World War II by REAL fascists.

And I have a question for you: why do conservatives label liberals socialists, communists, and/or traitors?

How much History have you made? BTW, it is fact that Conservative Republicans in modern day do not want you to ever be wealthy, they want you to work for minimum wage all your life. They are happy you pay $2.89 per gal. of gas. They own stocks that are doing well in Exxon Mobile. The USA has a $9 trillion debt over ten years, the Iraq occupation will cost working class tax payers $2 trillion over ten years. All caused by Republicans. All done by Republicans in the last 6 years. I am very Happy I am not 30 years old paying taxes to pay for the Republicans lack of being Conservative.
BTW, Republicans were in the drivers seat when the Sept. 11th. attack on America was done also. They did nothing to prevent it. Read the Sept. 11th. report to Congress. Bush was told (PDB) in advance of that attack.

Perhaps you should start with a definition of liberals. Seems to me that the right has taken the most common definition and skewed it to conform to their misguided belief.

ADJECTIVE: 1a. Not limited to or by established, traditional, orthodox, or authoritarian attitudes, views, or dogmas; free from bigotry. b. Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded. c. Of, relating to, or characteristic of liberalism.

Thanks for this question! I argue all the time on here, about this very thing! I blame Wikipedia, for their revisionist definition of fascism (post WWII definition). When all fascist regimes occurred before WWII.

I blame public education.
