The iraquis can not see a good ending for anything they do as long as the americans occupy their country. If they stop fighing among themselves, Bush will claim victory and use that to continue the occupation. Not only that, but he will then argue that, it was a good thing to invade Iraq and he should do the same thing against others.

Tom Clancy couldn't make that scenerio fly.
In reality if the Shia and Sunni reaally wanted to get the Americans and Brits out they would stop fighting. Anyone who thinks we'd have a military force stay if the fighting stopped must have an IQ of less then 60. There would no advantage to staying where there is no fighting. If you don't believe that look at how many US Troops (about 60) are in the Kurdish controlled North Iraq. And those are at the request of the local government for training ONLY!

It is in the wests best interest to have a stabile Iraq. They have the 2nd largest oil fields in the middle east and the more insecurity there is, the more of a chance that unstabilizing forces like Al Queda can gain sympathy and support from nations like Iraq and Iran.
Fighting terrorism doesnt mean you leave it alone, do nothing about it and hope it goes away. You need to be on the offense!

Seeing as how, due to the stupid Bush policy, American troops are stubbornly left smack dab in the middle of the crossfire between them, if they stopped killing each other, they'd also stop killing many of ours as well.
I think that would be beneficial.
To wish for it to continue, so Bush can't claim political points for it, only plays to the stereotype that we liberals want Americans to die and for policy to fail for partisan reasons.
I think you should re-think your opinions on this. These are real lives we're talking about here.

Yeah the never ending holy wars are going to come to a stop. They will never stop killing eachother, ever, sad as it is that will never ever happen. So yeah, sorry. Why would it be good, to start world peace maybe.. wow who knows, like asking what good would it do for Lions to stop hunting Wildabeasts, not gonna happen.
