It rattles quite loudly when I start it and when it's in idle. But it sounds fine when I'm actually moving. I'm not sure, but it sounds like the rattling is coming from underneath the car rather than in the engine.

GREMLINS ---just kidding ---go to a good mechanic (ask people who they have dealt with before and were they treated honestly) and get an professional estimate of repairs----- as could be many causes as simple as broken or loose exaust clamp to broken or loose mtr/transmission mounts many quality shops will diagnose for free if you are a regular customer

have your catalytic converter(s) checked. the catalyst can break loose from the houseing and rattle while running at idle.
