I think that Spot fixing is much more common than match fixing. Match fixing still happens but spot fixing is much more common. Spot fixing is when a certain element of the game is fixed (Number of wides or bowler economy rates). it happens more often because it is easier to do with just the participation of 1 or 2 players. But match fixing requires the whole team to participate.

If a cricket match is fixed then usually at the start of the match a side will lose a few early wickets and then fight back more towards the end to make it more realistic. After the match the captain can say "We had a bad start and we fought back strongly towards the end but unfortunatly it was not enough!"

(No proof of this. Just my opinion based on what I have heard and read on the internet and in the news)

If you believe in your head that it exists, it exists. If you don't believe so, it does not exist.

However, my gutt feeling says that it does exist. And this instinct got boosted when PAK's coach Bob Woolmer was murdered. It only goes to show that this sport is unbelieveably dirty and serious. Infact, it's not a "sport" anymore.

Match-fixing is too small of a crime now. This game has crossed the limits of match-fixing and reached the level of "murders".

Where there is abundant flow of money, there will be attempts for match fixing. Its success depends on finding some black sheep among players.
