Unfortunately, I think we certainly should consider it, We absolutely can not sustain these occupations by extending tours in hostile environments... it just can't be sustainable. We need to ask ourselves how much the same soldiers actually want to be there after each unexpected extension is divulged to them.... a lot of these soldiers are reservists who have been away from their families and their jobs and we are asking them to stay longer... and indefinitely. The troops already think that this nation is not making sacrafices while they are fighting daily. People are fooling themselves if they think the soldiers are not affected by all of this... and now we are expecting an extension (and this is not just one extension, this is an extra extension to another extension... many of these soldiers have faced up to 4 extensions)..
Every one thinks the soldiers are happy slugging it out so we can watch the fall-out of Don Imus or Anna Nicole Smith's melodrama. Keep fighting on troops! I'll tivo Nancy Grace for you guys when she interviews Larry Birkhead! How does that look to the soldiers in Iraq or Afghanistan?
Yes, we should think about the draft.

YES! There absolutely should be a draft, and ultimately there will be no choice but to start a draft because these Islamic EXTREMISTS are hell bent on slaughtering us, "FACT" it is not going to go away, there are million's of them everywhere all over the world and it only takes one or two of them to cause absolute havock and kill thousands of us at a time, I do not see us having any other option than to start a draft, they could do that and the ones who realy have no backbone could do the paperwork job's or clean the toilet's or some $h1t like that, and that would let the real VOLUNTEER HEROES get on with their job's, surely not everyone who would be drafted would cry and run away, I don't beleive that for a minute, coz I think that once they find out how good the military would be for them, then some would change their mind's. At some point down the line they are going to run out of the volunteer's so what happens then??

So great idea, have people fighting - risking their lives on a daily basis - for a cause they not only disagree with but are openly hostile to. That's sure going to make sure a good job is done, and is going to keep moral high.

No. The draft should be reserved for dire circumstances. As volunteers, the current soldiers did have the opportunity to opt-out of their obligation prior to signing up.

Because President Bush knows that the top 10% (the people that pay 90% of tax) don't support the war.

I say no, its hardly necessary for a war that's equally unnecessary. Last i checked we wer'nt short on volunteers either.
I for one would not feel safer with everyone thrust into this war. I would not want to be thrust into a platoon with a load of half wits or ex cons.
