I did my college educatioin in India and currently studying in US. I find both places good for hard workers; but in different ways. In India, I had to work hard to score good grades in the exams, and here I have to work hard to score good grades in the assignments.
Again, it depends on your learning style. In India, limited opportunities are there for creativity in college studies; so, you will have a tough time if you have difficulty in following someone else's thoughts and theories blindly.
In US, you have to use your creativity and present your abilities in your own way. If you are not good at that, college in US will be a difficult place for you.
Wherever it is, a hard worker will reap success; only thing is that, you should be working in the right direction.

This question is hard to answer because in general the entire attitutde toward college is completely different in these two countries.
In India, only a tiny fraction of all young people attend university. In the USA the large majority of all kids attend and graduate from secondary school, and well over half of all high school grads attend some college at least for a limited time. In some parts of the USA the percentage of people who have attended college is quite high.
So, that means that hundreds, if not thousands, of USA colleges have students who are far from the best students. In those colleges the rigor of instruction is not very high. On the other hand, in the elite colleges, the ones where the best American students attend, the level of instruction is very rigorous and the schools have very good facilities, libraries, labs and faculty - the best that money can buy.
So, I would agree that the best American schools are clearly better than all but a handful of the best universities outside the USA. But there are many other schools which are neither selective of students, nor particularly demanding. Still, for the most part they would have better facilities and resources than Indian schools.

While the US lags behind much of the world in primary and secondary education, it has many of the best universities in the world. Look at any ranking of universities and you will see that the US dominates the list.
For example -- look at the link below. Not that it is published by an organization in India. It is a list of the top 200 universities in the world. 25 US institutions are ranked above the highest ranked Indian university.
That being said -- there are a lot of colleges in the US that are not very good. I would not be surprised to hear that the average college student in the US goes to a school that isn't as challenging as the one that the average Indian student attends.
So -- my answer is US is clearly better at the top -- but India may be better on average.

In general , i dont know what kind of dificulty you mean,,
there are two ,,ways ,if its hard to sit in the class room then indian universities are tough, because the teaching sucks and boring,
and if its the other way, then studying in usa is tough in regards to money and getting to gether with the american people. you choose the best one, which suits you.

no one could answer this unless they've attended university in both countries. International students flock to American universities, though the reverse is not always true. Just be glad you're in college.
