In short no. There is simply not enough room and you risk damage to your cervix. There is however, no reason why you can't have sex while you have your period.
Keep in mind that you may want to avoid the first couple of days when its at its heaviest and perhaps put a towel down and definitely use a condom. And in the end, you make the decision. If you don't feel comfortable, your boyfriend will have to wait until next week.
By the way, TSS is unrelated to this question.

No- That tampon could get lodged up there and then you would have to go to the Dr. to have it removed.
I have found a product called "Instead" at Walgreens.
It works like a reservoir that captures the menstrual fluid and allows you to have sex w/out the messiness. If you have ever used a diaphragm- Instead works the same.

No, take the tampon out. There's only so much room in there. If your boyfriend is urging you to have sex while you're on your period then he can learn to deal with the blood (there's actually not that much of it). Just make sure he uses a condom, since you don't want anything to get up his tubes and lay down some towels to avoid a mess.

its an easy going thing and i think youll like it more, some time girls have tummy pains in their period, sex takes the pain away as sex is a natural painkiller, shower and get freshened up, lay a towel on the bed pull tampon out and do it. it will be slipperier, and messy but shows and water are cheapthrow the towel to soak in cold water before you wash it, and take a shower again, its sexy feeling

Yes. I have and it is safe. I always changed my tampon afterward.
I have done it and my tampons have never became stuck. If the guy knows what he is doing, he won't be able to push it up there either. There IS room.
However, it is easier on your lighter days because on your heavier days you wear the stronger tampons and sex hurts with the Super tampons.
Later on in the period when you wear the Regulars, sex is easier.
If you feel comfortable doing it during your period, then do so. If you're not comfortable, then you don't have to have sex during your period. Wait until it's done.

That would not be safe. You'd end up in the E.R. because your tampon would get stuck inside of you. Now how would that be for embarrassing moments?

You can have sex while using a tampon if you want to go to the hospital to have it surgically removed. Come on if you insert a penis in there while you have a tampon in the penis will push the tampon further in and off to the hospital you go.

I wouldn't try it, I imagine the tampon would be pushed to some place that it wasn't meant to go and it would probably be very painful, and very hard to get out.
