I am not fooled by his pretend to care attitude regarding his pejarotive slurs, as though he didn't realize he was being offensive. Anyone who ahs ever listened to him know he is offensive on purpose to make people feel badly about their race, or age, or sexual orientation or his sexist hating. I have never heard him NOT offending others. SO, what a lame L.D. to think that the American listening public is fooled by his fake concern.
Go away Imus, you JERK. And god bless your poor wife.

Yes, he was hired and kept on the air all these years because his offensive remarks amused people. Now people aren't amused anymore, so he got fired. I'll be glad if there is more civility on the airwaves.
In private life I'll bet he's nicer.

Imus serious? Yes, he was serious about trying to keep his job. No, he could care less how much he insulted any woman, and this wasn't the first time he's made racist and sexist comments.

Rutgers team: These are young college women who succeeded as athletes and are role models. Yes, if I were them, I would be deeply hurt being referred to with racist, women-hating slurs on a program widely heard across the US, instead of being encouraged for the hard work and efforts they've made in their lives.

Imus can't make it better-he thought he could denigrate these young women, since he didn't think anyone deserved respect, especially not young women. He thought he could talk about how these young athletes looked with impunity, since so many males in public talk about women in the most demeaning ways possible, and don't even notice they're doing it.

I notice that a lot of white people are whining about how sexist rap music is-they don't seem to notice how racist they are being by assuming ALL black people like that crud, obviously many people dislike it; furthermore, why aren't whites doing something about the sexist music on the airwaves created by acid rockers, punk rockers, and rock n' rollers, who talk about women as though they were prostitutes AS WELL? I don't see how rappers being women-haters can ever be used to justify the women-hating words of white musicians, white commentators, and white or black comedians. Two wrongs do not make a right-all male public figures are wrong when they talk about women as though they were pieces of meat.

youy make NO sense in your thought here. This whole Imus thing is rediculous. Your right, his whole show is themed around maknig fun of others, but werent you a kid once? its not like he means what he says, its what sells, its "locker-room" humor. In other words, its ok that rappers can use all sorts of racial slurs or comedians say far worse than imus ever did, and they all get paid millions upon millions and its looked at as entertainment? I never use the n-word or h-word, even if others do. but if its out there and so widely used among the masses, who is to say one old white guy cant say it as well? there is def. 2 sides to this story, the ones sharpton and jackson arent saying.

GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT,

Maybe he isn't really concerned, but then again, I'm sure the Rutgers team weren't scarred for life either! What a flippin joke!

Ever heard of freedom of speech?

You don't like what the guy has to say, no one forces you to listen to him, no one forces you to care or to even know he exisits, so why should he have apolgized. So the guys is iggnorant and has made a living off of making fun of "people" all races, all sexual orientation, or religous affilation, no one seemed to give a crap until it "offended" a group of young girls that have no idea who the heck this guy was or what he said, because they don't listen to his show either.

That sounds like he was trying to buy them off with some sort of bribe. He said it without outright saying it.
