Not directly. But it is saying something that advertisers pulled their ads from his shows. Black people aren't poor and ignored any more. This makes a bold statement that black people, and their money, are just as important as that of whites.

And for all the black girls growing up right now... they can look at what has happened here and not feel like they have to be shat upon for their race anymore. They can stand up and be proud of themselves. They can aspire to be a basketball player without feeling like they'll be pigeon-holed into a racial stereotype and made fun of. They can aspire to be a powerful woman without feeling like they have to accept the kind of treatment and mentality of being a "ho."

Additional note: People need to stop harping on the fact that rappers use ho and the n-word in their songs. I have three black neighbors and I know for a fact that none of them likes any of those terms. Haven't you noticed that many black leaders in this country are fighting back against the rappers for their use of derogatory language? It's not a "black thing." It's a rapper thing. The vast majority of black people do not use terms like that and don't like it even when their own race uses them. Would you like to be characterized by the likes of Eminem, Britney Spears, and Paris Hilton? Many islamic extremists call us the Great Satan because they see those fools on TV (along with shows like the OC, etc) and think that we're all like that. Or like George Bush.

In the department store of life, Don Imus is in the toy section.
Firing him won't really affect anybody's life except his.
But maybe it is a sign that there will be more civility on the airwaves?

Honey you must be drunk! Some Black peoples lives were already better way before this sh!t even happened! You act as though we were underground somewhere digging ditches! You White people really need to get your sh!t together and maybe come back down to earth! Because I think with everything that's happening around this globe right now, you all can't handle it and you are losing control! But that's a good thing. I guess that when all people of color with move into your slots and then you all will be the minorities! Think about it! THE PRESSURE IS ON!

why sure, it has taught the whole world what we cannot say,,, do not ever use descriptive words to describes ones hair!

come on people, black is no longer a minority,, jobs and education is available for all, having the same rights as anyone else, in many cases , actually more! its time to stop looking for any offensive things and accept that slavery is an awlful thing of the past, but has been overcome. al needs to learn that ridicule comes with being a human being, not just being black

no appearantly their lives have been ruined beyond repair because of him. ridiculous i think
what happened to sticks and stones? he said nothing worse than rappers do in their songs.
may have been a rude remark but certainly not damaging. if someone called me a straight haired ho i would not need therapy nor would i cry.

what i hate is when people like curly up there says "you white people" then cry that others are racist. is that not a racist remark from her?

and when i referred to rappers saying crap i meant ALL rappers not just black rappers. they say their chit publicaly and my point was they talk like that and worse they disrespect people of all colors male. female, they rap on cop killing, mother killing disrespect all but mainly women (of all races) all the time how bout that song by i believe body count called K K K B*itch most disgusting i have ever heard.
whether it is against black white mexican asian whomever it is all disgusting but it it doesn't ruin my life or anyone elses. i just choose not to listen and my life goes on.

of course, not! That was just another notch for Sharpton's belt. If there was never a chance of making the news or some other sort of publicity page, he'd*never* be involved! That freaking camera hog needs some *serious* comeuppance!

I'm still fumed that people have totally glossed over that Tawana Brawley "incident"!

Nope. We'll still live the same way. Those who use the N word will continue to use it.

No! But Imus'll probably learn when and what is appropriate to say and where, won't he? Sometimes, you have to be intelligent enough to keep your comments to yourself; His life certainly won't get better, will it?
