It is disgusting the amount we are paying for a TV licence when we don't watch BBC i think we should pay for the programmes we watch then they would have to pull their socks up or go under they really are on to a good thing

I do buy a TV licence because a) I can afford one and b) I don't want to be afraid not to answer my front door. I do however think it's a big rip off because the BBC gets 300 BILLION every year from its licence payers all of which is wasted on the likes of Terry Wogan, Johnathon Ross, promoting shows for Andrew Lloyd Webber...which is backhanded advertising. They do not invest that money in any good scriptwriters any more (Eastenders I rest my case) and keep showing repeats of good shows like Only Fools and Vicar of Dibley. Their wildlife shows are good but quite frankly there's only so many of those you can watch. Good luck to you for not giving them any more money because they don't need it, they pay their greedy fat cat execs too much. Rant over!!!

I used to get angry about having to pay a license fee but you just have to watch ITV or Channel 5 to realise that it's worth it. There hasn't been a decent show on either of those channels (with the exception of Prison Break) for years. If the BBC didn't have an obligation to the license payer I guarantee it would have a version of 'Quiz Call' or 'Make Your Play' on all night too.

*READ THIS THEN*

insider information from a friend of mine who hasnt had a tv license EVER!

when the tv licensing people visit your property you can refuse to let them in. they would have to get an official police warrant which takes time and money.

when they do visit your property they *CANNOT* turn on your tv. they ask you to do it you can refuse but even better is to accept and they will ask you to tune into bbc 1. now make sure your bbc channels are tuned out and they will take note and leave,.

end of situation however my friend gets call every few months from them just to make sure he isnt hiding things. but i agree tv licensing is a pile of crap i dont watch bbc channels im either on net tv watching youtube videos of dvds and my xbox. tv nowadays is shite i want BULLSEYE etc.. now that was good tv :)

the answer to your questions are no we should not pay for the tv licence and yes we are being ripped off. as a matter of fact, we shouldn't be made to pay for watching tv. that is just stupid, i mean, you don't hear of other countries charging people money to purchase a licence to watch films and shows on the box and why should we.-and yet why of all places do we in the UK have to fork out for it as a legal requirement?

i agree that it is very unfair that we should be forced to pay a tv licence for bbc! it should be an optional channell like the sky ones and if you want it you pay for it, because what is the point in paying so much money every month for your sky when you need a licence for your tv as well.

it is all wrong.

if you dont want bbc you shouldnt be forced to pay for it!!!!
