First, we should preface the discussion by separating Islam as a whole from the Jihadists.
Those terrorists are to Islam as the KKK is to Christianity.
Christians condemn the KKK.
Islam should condem those practicing Jihad.
That aside, many want to have nuclear weapons to START Armageddon!
It is a deliberate desire.
Don't fall for the specious argument that we could conduce another Cold War with Islam like we did with the Communists.
IT CAN'T WORK.
They WANT to destroy EVERYTHING.
The Communists were MUCH more rational.

Islam is not a threat, many Muslims live in peace with the rest of the world. The threat is the governments and extremists that claim Islam but do not really live by Islam, which is a religion of peace.

No. There are over a billion Muslims in the world. You're talking about a small fraction of that group that is a threat. Visit Turkey and you'll see a state that is at peace with the U.S. and is actually a NATO ally, but is a 90% Muslim country.
You're confusing religion with religious fanaticism, the latter of which IS a threat.

TERRORISM is a threat, a huge threat and a threat that must be dealt with. Islam is a religion that some evil people twisted to their own ends. I'm a Christian but I have friends of all faiths and my Muslim friends hate terrorist just as much as I do.

When people make Islam into a vehicle of hate and destruction, then yes. Stalin was horrible, so I dont see Islam becoming so powerful that someone else can do what Stalin did.

I would say worse. I don't remember any extremist communists blowing themselves up in the name of marx or lenin. I'm not ignorant to the point of belief that all muslims are extremists but any person who kills in the name of any religion taints it for those who claim it is a peace loving following.

No, it is a much worse threat. This threat doesn't care if they kill themselves in the attempt to dominate the world. The Soviets at least wanted to live to enjoy their power.
