My Powerbook usually only has 60-90 mins of battery power. On plane flights it runs out before my movies is over. Like my iPod, I've tried letting the PC drain all its power and then charging in the off position overnite. Still doesn't work. This is a hand-me-down PC so I have no original information. Is this normal for this model? Is there something I can do ti extend the battery length? Thnx.

Ouch. I think you got an unlucky bargan there. Recently (like 6 months ago) Apple recalled batteries from a certain laptop (I think it was the PowerBook G4). The problem was that the battery got to hot to meet energy star qualifications. I really do not know if Apple is still accepting these batteries (I check the Apple site (apple.com)). I suggest you go to the nearest Apple store ASAP, and ask if you can get a new one.... it shouldnt cost you anything. good luck.
In the future, to conserve battery power, you can dim the screen light, quit programs you are not using, and put the computer to sleep and/or shut down when not using.

Batteries have a limited number of times they can be recharged before they start to lose capacity. Mac OS X should be able to tell you how many cycles your battery has gone through. To find this, open the System Profiler and check the battery section. It could be time for a new battery.

The battery may be worn out. Apple sells replacements.

try changin your battery go on yahoo anf type battery for pawerbook G4.ans try not let your battery drain to much that kills your battery good luck.
