I want to replace the ball-bearing rollers on my old, but great funtioning, door. They are to noisey!!

I want something more quiet.

A door repair man told me recently they are all the same. I know that is not true because of my close friend was bragging, and he showed me, about how quiet his new door was. You could hardly hear it and the rollers looked a little different.

Do I have any options? If so, where? I want to have as much info. before I contact a local g. door repair man ...again,

Thanks,

Ed

They have the metal ones, like you have. And now they also make nylon ones that are quietier, but they don't last as long, I've been told by a professional.

That's what I know about them. Good luck

They sell Nylon rollers at HomeDepot. Replace one at a time on your door by loosening the hinge where the roller rides. Spray a little lube on the ball bearings once a year.

Check the following site. It has a large variety of rollers and like the previous answer I believe the nylon roller would be much quieter. The site also explains how to change them. ...Good Luck... http://www.garagedoorsupply.com/rollers.html
