Does anyone know any good fantasy-young adult books? I've read a few that I loved (Maximum Ride and Twilight), if that helps at all.

Tamora Pierce's books, especially the Tortall books (I'm not as familiar with her Circle books--different universe)
Alanna: the 1st Adventure
In the Hand of the Goddess
The Woman Who Rides like a Man
Lionness Rampant
Wild Magic
Wolf-Speaker
Emperor-Mage
The Realms of the Gods
First Test
Page
Squire
Knight
Trickster's Choice
Trickster's Queen
Terrier (prequel)--1st in its series

Anything by Robin McKinley would also be good; Anne McCaffrey's Harper Hall trilogy (Dragonsong, Dragonsinger, Dragondrums) reads a lot like fantasy.
I started reading "adult" fantasy series in 8th or 9th grade as well: Lackey's Arrows Trilogy, Kurtz's Deryni books, Eddings' Belgariad, to name a few.

The obvious are the best. If you read Maximum Ride, did you also read 'When the Wind Blows' (The origin of this series)

You might enjoy the Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever Series (though it does include a few disturbing scenes....) There are 6 books in the series.

I also enjoyed the first few Shanarra series. (Elfstones of Shanarra, Song of Shanarra, etc) Terry Brooks created quite a universe in that.

There is a new series on Sci Fi called the Dresden Files. It is based on a great series of books.

Of course, the obvious are the Harry Potter Series...

Checkout the Inheritance Trilogy: Eragon, Eldest & we are still awaiting the third of the series. Christohpher Paolini is the author. Also, by Cornelia Funke, Inkheart & Inkspell which has a third installation on the way.

Wow! There's alot of suggestions down that I would have recommended myself. One that I don't see on the list though is Gerald Morris (Squire's Tale, The Squire, His Knight & His Lady, The Savage Damsel and the Dwarf...) --he writes Authurian fantasy some really funny stuff. The kind of run serial but don't really need to be read that way.

Elfstones of Shannara and Wishsong of Shannara by Terry Brooks

Eragon, Eldest by Chris Paolini

Artemis Fowl by Eoin Cofler (it's a bit childish)

did you read New Moon, the sequel to twilight?

i recommend author Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. Rhodes writes young adult vampire and shapeshifter novels sorta like Twilight.
