Last week end i recently purchased a goldfish, i have two now, but one of them has turned a greenish colour and looks bigger than normal...the fish used to be orange with a few black spots. What is wrong with it and is there anything i can do?

It's not unusual for a goldfish to change in color as it grows and ages. Assuming you don't see it acting strangely I would assume that this it all that's going on and is nothing at all to worry about.

They change colors as they grow. I had a common goldfish turn from orange to greenish black, then all the black went away and he was orange again. It sounds like genetics to me. Watch the behavior, if he's lively and eating well, then no problem. I have heard water conditions (such as different ph), lighting and food will sometimes make a goldfish change color. What I have noticed is when there is a noticable color change, the fish is going through a growth spurt. Since spring through fall are the growing seasons for goldfish it sounds like that is what is happening. He likes your tank and is happy, and more than willing to grow bigger just for you!

are you sure its not got a disease?
This is not a pretty thing to look at, once you see it on your fish you will know what I mean. It's a greenish disk shape creature about 1/5 of an inch wide and attaches itself to the goldfish. The goldfish will be rubbing up against anything to get it off. You will also see red spots where the fish louse was. There is ways of getting rid of them but you must to it fast cause they do reproduce quickly. You can remove them from the fish manualy, then treat the tank for the ones you dont see.
I hope its just one of those not so common ones. Best of luck!
