no, It's not fair that black rappers, hip-hop artist, and stand-up comics can say these things and get away with it. But some old white guy trying to be cool gets fired. That sucks. You can walk down the streets and hear black people say worse things than that. If one race is singled out from these remarks, don't you think that is racist. If they do that they should go ahead and fire everyone in the industry who say these offensive statements. It's not fair and it is a double standard.

OK I notice this is a Black and white issue. Most of the white people say that he shouldn't been fires, but most black feel like he should have been fired. I feel like they had no choice because they people at CBS and NBC that were Minorities wanted him gone because they feel like he is a racist. Remember people this is not they first time he said something like this, about 12 years ago he called black people Monkeys. He has made fun of the black people for years so It was about damn time. Imus was on a public radio station you can't talk about people that way on a public setting. Once a racist, always a racist.

No, he made a mistake, he apologized. He is a shock jock, it's what he was hired to do.

Why aren't the black artists, who sing about their own race in that way fired? The comedians, who do the same? The reverends, who continue to hold their own race back, by perpetuating stereotypes where they don't exist, and feeding off the media circus they cause?

We all live in the real world, and we are all human, we make mistakes.

I'm sure they are proud. Had to get their 15 minutes of fame somehow! Firing IMUS was a mistake I think!

He was wrong in what he said. But, if he is fired, why is Sharpton, the man who supports the new black panthers in their racism, including anti-Semitism, allowed to go on shooting his mouth off with all his racist comments? He should be fired too and CNN should pull the plug on all the racists it gives air time to.

no...but I personnally think that it was all a publicity stunt for Imus. The people that didn't know who he was before..do now. So when he comes back, he will have a bigger audience.

NO! And....if the media keeps track of these girls down the line...let's see if they should EVER say something they regret. This incidence(their actions...lead by their coach) could actually harm them in the years to come. They actually could become known as trouble makers....and their future employers may not want to have anything to do with them. I guess we shall see.

NO WAY!!!! Such is the double standard by the black community! Most of them (especially Jackson and Sharpton) need to change their moral character before they come judging the rest of us!

No, it's called freedom of speech!

What he said was not intended with any ill will or malice.

People are just to damned sensitive.

Folks need to grow up.
