Brilliant - a question where every possible combination of three names is the correct answer. Anyone who name three Presidents wins, since all previous Presidents have been superior to Bush.

Lincoln, F. Roosevelt, Washington, Jefferson, T. Roosevelt, Truman, Jackson, Eisenhower, Polk, Adams Sr., Kennedy, Madison, Reagan, Cleveland, Monroe, Adams Jr., Taft, Clinton, Arthur, Et cetera... And a shorter list would be "who is less qualified than George W. Bush". Considering his financial flubs with past countries.

I have lived through 11 Presidents...how many have you lived under? None has made so many blunders, bloopers or wrong moves, none has put the US in such a dim view of other Countries, and I don't remember any of these past Presidents being caught in so many lies,...except the person you are inquiring about.

I'm not sure what you are expecting to glean here, but Qualification and effectiveness?, pertaining to what? The leadership of this country?, or the ability to undo the good past leaders have done?

William Jefferson Clinton- left with a budget surplus

Franklin Delano Roosevelt- rallied the nation during WWII. Asked for, and recieved the nation's sacrifice for that cause.

William Henry Harrisson- was president for a month, but still more effective than DUH-bya.

You don't set the bar very high, there.

Dwight D Eisenhower, Ronald Reagan, Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
Hell any of them were better even Woodrow Wilson and everyone though he was a disaster. George Dubya eclipsed him by miles.

Let's see:
Bill Clinton-
Did nothing during the genocides in Rwanda, Sudan, East Timor, Serbia and entered late into Kosovo. We are still in Serbia and Kosovo to this day and no one is belly aching about these operations (although the region is not 'hot').

Chinese Embassy in Belgrade was bombed by US Forces.

Had the chance to receive custody of Bin Laden from Sudan (couldn't come up with a legal reason to detain him, he isn't a head of state).

Oklahoma City, Twin Towers, USS Cole, Embassies in Tanzania and Kenya, Khobar Towers were all bombed (so much for intelligence gathering).

We tucked our tail and ran in Somalia, thus allowing Al Qaeda and other Islamo Fascists to setup shop in the country.

During the Hainan Incident where the US Navy lost an EP-3E ARIES II to communist China, the Chinese were allowed to board this ELINT aircraft and intercept our crypto and electronics.

Policing actions such as Waco (Branch Davidians) and Elian Gonzalez were executed by the Clinton Administration.

Monica.....

Fired 93 Federal Prosecutors including one Federal Prosecutor that was about to file charges against the Chairman of the Ways and Means committee (Democrat) Dan Rostenkowski and another Federal Prosecutor looking into the Clintons for White Water. And this Congress is worried about 8 Federal Prosecutors (not 93) that some were looking into Democrats (not sure this would have helped Bush like Clinton's firing helped himself.)

Who needs George W. when you have this shining example of effectiveness and competency.

Jimmy Carter-
Iran Hostage Crisis and rescue debacle.

Military and Intelligence weakened to the point of Russian Hard-line Generals calling for a Nuclear strike on America. I don't think American realize how close we can to full out nuclear and conventional war with the Russians under the Nixon, Ford and Carter administrations with their détente policy. Russia (our enemy at the time) was also strengthened by this policy.

1979 Energy Crisis...

That is just two, I will work on the third!

Pick any 3 you want to pick. They all were better, even the worst of the lot is better than Bush.
I know you think Liberals could not even get an easy answer like that right, boy were you wrong.

George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Woodrow Wilson..... but in fact none of these were the best. No one remembers the good presidents. No one remembers the presidents who had happy and productive times. They built the economy, expanded arts and education and served during Americas best of times but no one remembers thier names. not even me. It's all those faceless presidents who did thier job best.

Out of the popular presidents i like Woodrow Wilson, he created the beginings of the united nations but it was not finalized until after WWII.
