The law says all are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Wouldn't fewer D.A.s, etc. look less like jerks if they at least PRETENDED to follow the law? Certainly the prosecutor in the soccer team vs the exotic dancer would not be fighting for his job now.....

Whoa! In the interests of clairfication and self defense: First, I DON'T think those "boys" are innocent! Far from it! Second, for you conclusion- jumpers, I read! I get most of my "info" from various sources, mostly written. I don't have cable so clearly I didn't sehear ANYTHING on CNN, and it was largely a general peeve of mine. As so my bleeding heart, you better hope someone like me is in YOUR corner, because you are sooo right!-"We ALL make mistakes!" Otherwise, Raymond, I really like your answer, so : Thank You.

Adversarial Process is a failed and broken mechanism.

I am not so quick to jump on the "They were completely innocent bandwagon."

I believe it is largely a problem that has been created by the massive press machine. The press demands a show and a no comments till trial response would never satisfy them. So the prosecutor gives them what they are after( sensationalism) and gets his moments of fame.Which I agree with you is wrong.

Perhaps theoretically. But like it or not, they are just human beings. And they have to deal with the scum of the earth on a daily basis. It's not surprising that the fiction should wear thin after awhile.
