Those girls didn't even know who Don Imus was......they or their coach didn't listen to his show, they were told by Sharpton, Jackson, and the NAACP to be offended and to say those things.

This whole sitution is a bunch whinny babies, trying to make a buck somehow.

Awe, poor Willow. You work at Rutgers.....maybe you should sue Don Imus for making it hard for you to do your job. I wouldn't be surprised to hear, that there are counslers at Rutgers now so you can spend the day bit_hin' and moaning that Don Imus has ruined your life. Or that the campus will be closed for all of next week so the students and staff can have time to cope with the situation. GIVE ME BREAK!!!!! Those girls are college athletes, they are tougher than that. Whatever happened to "stick and stones"?

Why do so many people give a $hit about what that guys said. You didn't listen to his program, if you don't like what he says, turn the station. Now.....go play your P-diddy or Snoop Dogg CD and get over it.

As for "hypnotiq", do you really think only black woman have to endure these kinds of issues. That is seriously a racist statement. White people have problems, white people get called names, white people endure those same kinds of things everday........don't you think maybe we (as a society) should just say "people" endure and overcome problems everyday, maybe comments like yours would be better accepted if it weren't about race. Take out the word "black" or african american in your statement and it means the exact same thing, it just isn't racist anymore.

Maybe would should start referring to white people, as "white americans" then we can get a minority status.........You see how stupid that sounds? Aren't we all just AMERICANS?

It's a yes and no answer.... Yes because they will never(ever)forget what Imus said... That accepted apology is just a PC move...... They despise Imus and they are gonna be glad when this is over because Imus is on their personal s**t list forever...

No for the exact reason I mentioned above... They are ready for this to be over with... The shock of the statement for them is over with....... They've probably gotten their first blatant run-in with racism... Now they are gonna grow from this experience and move on.....

In the department store of life, Don Imus is in the toy section. If these young women could be scarred for life by a rude remark, how did they get as far as they have?

Speaking from experience, I am an African- American. I am a woman. I have been called worse! I was seven years old when someone first called me a ni**er, I was 13 when I first heard someone refer to me as a bi**h. That is the beauty behind being black. You can overcome any obstacle! So no, I don't think they will be scarred for life. Black people, especially black women have to put up with a lot of things people say and do to them People always try to degrade, reject, and destroy what they don't understand or what they secretly wish to be.

As I've grown, I have learned that people don't make derogatory statements for nothing. Its because they are not happy with themselves!

People hear words like that all the time, when those girls fight with each other, they have probably said it a couple of times!! It would definately scar me though, because I have never heard those words before in my life....and I also live under a rock...

If these girls can not get over this incident.....then yes, they may be scarred. That proves their coach has taught them very little, huh? They are young adults and need to realize there is more to life than basketball. To make things 'even'....they need to ban all rap and hip hop music that uses the same words.....don't you think?

Scarred by all the positive publicity that they would otherwise not have gotten? OR more likely do you mean the scars that will stay with them because they were now linked to rev al?
