Education and character run indecisively close to one another. The US consistently places at the bottom when comparing world education systems (I think we vastly underestimate our children's capabilities). I think character is tied to this. Education and character are the two primary secular elements to form a productive member of society.

Health care followed so closely by education it's hard to choose between them.

In order:
1) People who wear corduroy
2)Terrorism / Border security
3)Abolishing current tax system in favor of a consumption tax.
4) Education - we are falling behind in Math & Science as our children would rather be famous and wear bling than be smart and make worthy contributions to society
5) Legalization of drugs and prostitution with all it's taxes going to education. This war will never be won, why fight it. By making drugs / prostitution illegal it has made them lucrative and violent - just as prohibition gave way to organized crime.
