I have a Zebra that looks like she's going to burst! She's gotten huge since we bought her and 3 other zebras about a month or so ago. I'm not sure how to sex Zebras, so I don't even know if I've got a male to fertilize the eggs! They are the standard Zebra Danios, not the giant ones or the lyretails.

My question is, how long do they carry their eggs for, and what do I need to do to ensure the survival of the babies and eggs? I have quite a few hiding spots for the babies, but where do they typically lay their eggs, and will the other fish eat the eggs?

Thank you for your answers!

Zebras are fun and easy to breed. Here's a few links that can answer your questions without leaving anything out like I would if I typed it all up.

Hope that helps and have fun with them!

I have three different female Danios: regular, goldie/leopard and long-tail leopard. I've had the regular one for about 4 months and she's still holding eggs!! I bought the second two thinking they were males, but they were too small and starved to really know what their gender was. Now I have too many fish. I would check out the previous guy's links to get more info.

until eventually you want the eggs to die i ought to both placed a internet round them or flow the adults like the guy above me stated. Fry are very delicate. also have the favor to make positive they have flora and stuff to cover in at the same time as they hatch.
