do true friends stay mad at each another for awhile. how can i tell if the person cares?

True friends do fight and get mad at each other once in a while. They may even end up not talking to each other for days, weeks or even years. It is healthy in a relationship for these things to happen. It's a test of how strong your friendship really is. But how to tell if that person really cares is a tough one. Only you can answer that. Somehow you'll be able to sense it if your bestfriend really cares for you. Between real friends, arguments, no matter how frequent, should leave them more mature and closer to each other. The urge to remain friends is greater than the feeling of irritation whenever disagreements arise. If you feel that your friend is slowly drifting away from you everytime you fight, then it could be that he or she no longer cares.

I think sometimes people say and do things they wish they hadn't, and sometimes there are too many boundaries fuzzed up and torn apart. Maybe one is forgiving and the other will not. Does that mean the other was not a real friend? I don't know. Sometimes one friend has a conditional love style of treatment toward everyone in their lives, and that makes it harder. It all depends on the personality of one or both friends, is what I'm trying to get at....

That's sort of a loaded question, because of personalities. My best friend whom I've known for ten years, we don't get mad at each other hardly at all, I'm known to hold grudges though, that's the thing, but we've always somehow been able to work things out =) now if the other person doesn't want to have anything to do with you anymore, then there's your answer, you know?
