It showed respect for the people and the religion that she wore a scarf. I was invited to a local mosque and wore a scarf simply out of respect for those that invited me and the others in the Mosque.
Wearing a scarf is not showing a sign of submission to anyone. It is showing a sign of respect to God. People who make stupid accusations like the guy above me, obviously have been misinformed about Islam.

The point is that leaders from Arab/Muslim countries do not remove their headdress when they come to the U.S. , so why should our leaders change their headdress when they go to those countries !!
Then you must also address the issues of their cultures where women are less than second-class citizens !!
