I would get it if, like another person said, the military would offer it. I'm sure they will eventually.
My mom had to have a complete hysterectomy when I was little due to pre-cancerous cervical cells caused by HPV. If a round of vaccinations can prevent that, or even worse, cancer, I say it's worth it.
And I don't think it will encourage girls to go out and have sex. If they are going to do it, they're going to do it, regardless of a shot. Might as well protect them any way possible. We should be more worried about how we raise our kids - that will have a much bigger effect on whether or not they are out having sex at 13 years old.

properly in the united kingdom we've the HPV vaccine too against cervical maximum cancers, and a lot of human beings ignored the 1st by fact it develop into arranged on the day of a school holiday, and a few lost their types, have been ill, or on drugs on the time, so could no longer have it even nonetheless they have been in school. What they did develop into whilst anybody develop into having their 2nd, thay in simple terms stated to the nurse they had ignored the 1st, so as that they had take transport of the 1st then fairly. the college appeared after all of it out. in simple terms tell your mum you have been the two ill on the day, or took paracetamol for a headache previously, so the nurse wasn't happy to offer it to you, so which you will in simple terms seize up yet yet returned. They have been given all 3 executed in the top, they only had to anticipate the third after tveryone else had had it. I doubt you would be the only one to pass over the 1st nonetheless.

Im for it all the way. I think if its available to you and your daughters why not get it. I know its not a guarantee that you wont get cervical cancer but its a way of preventing it. I've heard alot of people say that its only promoting unprotected sex I do not agree. I think parents should talk more with their children about sex, people now adays are so scared to talk to their kids their so worried about being their friend and not worried enough about being the parent. I'm pregnant with my first child and me and my mom have been able to talk about sex, drugs, boys everything since I was really little.
Okay i kinda got off the question but yes I do think girls and young women should get the shot.

I don't buy into the whole "it will promote promiscuity" thing. Why the heck wouldn't you want to protect your child from a preventable form of cancer. Yes, yes, long term effects. How many of you research any other "standard" shot's long term effects before allowing it to be given to your child? If its been given the green light by the FDA, I say go for it. Yes, it should be standard since some parents refuse to accept the possibility that their little angels could be sexually active and they not know it. *steps off soap box*.
My girls will get the shot when the time comes.

I have watched as people I knew died of the flu. I have watched as people I knew died of polio. I have watched as people I knew died of small pox. And I have watched as friends of mine have died of cancer. Flu for the most part is gone. Polio and small pox are gone. If there's a chance a person can stop the pain and death from cancer why would they not do it?
Just went through answers that popped up while I was putting mine in. None of the vaccines are 100% proven when they first come out. You should have heard the "uproar" when people found out the Salk vaccine was polio cells.

I think that if it is safe it should be an option for every woman. With so many people getting cancer these days it's great if there's a way to avoid at least one kind.

I have heard many many things about this shot. Although it does cover some things it doesn't cover all.
Some doctors aren't even willing to give you the shot.
My hubby is in the Army and the military isn't even offering this yet. So I'm not sure how I feel.

I'm with ladyscott. I'm worried about long term or even short term effects. I'll wait awhile.

I am all for it. I have two girls and they will get the shot. I don't agree with all the people saying that it will promote promiscuity among young girls.
