Its the first part of His Divine Comedy (the others being Purgatorio and Paradiso). It is his travel into Hell guided by Virgil through the 9 circles of hell (each where certain sins are punished)

it's a book by Dante. It's quite long and because it was written ages ago most of it doesn't make sense.
