ok so like i stated above my uncle gave me this printer and one of the first questions i have is does it scan pic's and where can i find software to upload it to my computer? please help

A long as the printer is an all in one printer. You will have a scan feature on it without having to have additional software. Did your uncle give you the installation disks for the printer? If not, go to HP.com and click on support and driver downloads. This will prompt you to enter the model number of the printer. Then click on the appropriate driver designated to your operating system.

No, it's a printer only.
