i vaguely remember this from the trailer from years ago.
there were either terrorists or robbers involved, holding some people on a snowy mountaintop. i believe there were ski scenes of them trying to escape. there was a helicopter in the trailer.
definitely an action film--didn't stay at theaters too long (which is why i missed it). it didn't seem to be a major studio effort but looked action-filled which is why i can't get it out of my mind.
any help?

i went to imdb and checked the trailer--you are 100% correct (inspite of the fact that one responder actually tried to force the wrong answer on me!!). it's too early for me to register your answer as being the correct one--i have to wait four hours but i'll do so later.
apologies to Ian McShane (who i at one point mistakenly thought might be in the film) and to Rufus Sewell (who actually is).

i beleive your talking about the movie "extreme ops", bunch of snowboarders get tangled up with terrorists on a mountain and have to escape

I too would say Cliffhanger (1993) starring Sylvester Stallone. Don't remember any skiing in it though, but the basic plot revolved around an ex mountain rescuer who has to save his friends and stop a team of robbers who are trying to find their stollen millions which they lost during a mid air heist. It was a reasonable to good film with the most amazing scene near the beginning where a woman falls to her death which leads Stallone to leave the mountains.

Sounds like "Cliffhanger" with Sly Stallone and John Lithgow.
They stole money from an in-flight transport and they had to find the money cases on teh mountain top, employing this rescue team
