The shape of a clock is a full circle, which has angle measure of 360°. If you divide that by 12, you see that the angle measure between any two adjacent numbers is 30°.

The hour hand is on the 7, and the minute hand is on the 2. The two hands are five numbers apart.

Therefore, you just multiply 30° * 5 = 150°

However, you must also take the hour hand's movement into consideration. In a time span of 60 minutes, the hour hand moves 30° (between two numbers). Therefore, in 10 minutes, it would move 5°:

150° + 5° = 155°

If it reads 7:10 it is a clock with no hands.

30 degrees per section (360/12)
5 sections between 2 and 7 =150
+
the distance the small hand traveled (it is not exactly on the 7 anymore):
10 minutes of 1 hour = 1/6 of one section= 30/6 = 5
=
155 degrees.

The angle between each hour mark is 360º/12 = 30º(assuming marks at 10 min intervals)

When the minute hand is on the 12 hour mark and the hour hand on the seven(seven o'clock) the angle will be 5x300150º. While the minute angle moves to the 10 minute mark it moves through an angle of 60º and the hour handle moves through a 1/12 of a 30º = 2.5º.

Thus the angle betwen the 2 hands is 150º - 2.5º + 30º = 177.5º

Well...depends how much you know about angles.
The distance in the shape of an "L" is 90 degrees. (right angle) If that was half (45 degrees) it would be pointing to the 7 min. after mark- right? so...you have to figure the increment area between 45 and 90. It's more than 45 and less than 90- exactly half of the other 45 degrees.
45 divided by 2= 22.5 for each 3.5 minutes.

There are 60 minutes indicated on a clock face.

As you know, a perfect circle has 360 degrees...SO..360/60 = 6..Therefore, each minute represents 6 degrees.

IF the time is 7:10...How many minutes are indicated on the face of that clock between the 7 position and the 10 position?

15 sound right? 15 * 6 = 90...90 degrees is your answer =)

whole circle is 360 degree and there are 12 parts for 12 hours
360/12=30 (angle between each number)
now multiply 30 by the number of parts there are
on one side you have 5*30 and the other is 7*30
