log 2 1000 = log 1000/log 2,
lets say the base of the log is 10,
log 2 1000 = 3/0.301
= 10

log_2 1000 = ln 1000/ln 2 = 9.97 to the nearest hundredth.
I used natural logs here plus a calculator
