"Typical" means not having to take chances on stuff that might or might not work. Some people are just scared to be different and so, falling into the "typical" makes it a lot easier.

Im not sure, i think it may be bcuz they´re scared to be themselves...peer pressure, the pressure the media puts on you...there are a million reasons...the only important reason though is for a person to be happy with who they are, be it similar to how most people are or completely different...and im sure that most people do realize that with time...everybody grows at a different rate. :)

Maybe they feel that typical is all they can get, so they don't try for anything better, or they don't believe that they're good enough for anything better.
