Whisky is the Scottish spelling, whiskey is Irish. I prefer Scotch whisky, a nice single malt like Glengoyne or perhaps Chivas regal. If I do drink Irish then it has to be Jamesons

My last name may be Scots, but I always spell the drink 'whiskey'... more Irish in the area I grew up in. Always liked the way the Clancy Brothers put it though... uisce beatha, water of life. Tim Finnegan's Wake... now I've gotta go change my music....
