I'm trying to clear off my PC's hard drive with an external hard drive and I'm wondering how feasible it will be to install my programs such as games onto the external drive instead of the one in my PC.

Depends on the Game and your method of transfer - USB 1.1 or USB 2.0 or FireWire. The latter being the fastest. I run some games off an external connected to my laptop, but they are small games and not real graphic intensive and I don't have any trouble with it. Hope this helps...

I just use the external one for storage but you might have it plugged into a usb 1.1 port instead of a usb 2.0 port right click on my computer and go to properties then device manager locate the usb device that says enhanced and see if your mass storage device is plugged into it the enhanced ones are the 2.0 which transfers at 480mbps verses 12mbps which is a very big difference of coarse you don't want to put your keyboard or mouse on it right

of direction! whenever you install a software maximum will assist you exchange the set up itemizing. I do it all the time with my flash drives. What i could advise is to create a folder on your ext rigidity referred to as "software information" {merely like what's on your no longer trouble-free rigidity}. That way, once you alter the set up itemizing, you purely ought to alter the rigidity letter {a minimum of that's much less puzzling to me =) }. wish this enables! Peace to you and yours, Matthew "Dra'Gon" Stohler
