sorry i couldnt add more detail. i was using opera mini on my phone. i drive a 97 eclipse but i drive about 60-100 miles a day. it was low on oil, more low then recommended. when i turned into where my destination was(never beat it since i replace my head gasket last month) the oil light came on for a second or 2. checked my oil and it was low. i added a quart in there for now and might get it changed today but im concerned to see if there is damage. this week i have been noticing a buzz at around 2200rpms in the front of the engine and the tranny bumping this morning but forgot to check my oil. so i hope there is no damage but i guess thats why im asking you guys

Check the engine oil. Not likely any damage has occurred. Most often there is a momentary malfunction of the sender.

If it just flashed on then off there is no damage. Have your oil checked, if low add some, if it is not low then you need to have a mechanic check the oil pressure to see if it is all right. If it turns out that you are having a problem with your oil pressure then you might need to have the engine bearings replaced. But most likley you just need a quart of oil.

Most cases this is just a "Warning" but you should check your Oil first and then do a following check.
STEP 1: Turn on the car(Do not start) and check how many lights are "ON". You should have atleast Oil pressure, Charging and Brake lights on. They are Red.

STEP 2: Now if you start the car they should all go away. This tells you that your basic lights are all working and car is in good shape.

If Oil and charging lights stays lit on step 2 then you have problem with low oil or charging system.

Make this test your habit as it gives you initial diagnosis if your car is in drivable condition.

If the lights do not turn up at Step1, get the car checked immidiately by professional mechanics or the dealer.

The oil light indcates the oil pressure has dropped below a safe level to properly protect the engine from wear. A second or two shouldn't harm your engine. A half minute could.

Yea, u should deff. check the oil. If it gets to low or to bad, it can damage your engine, which will cost u alot of money to replace.
