Firslty i wanted to know what refresh rate should i set it to because right now its on 75hz so is that alright or not. My screen resolution is at 1280X1024. My DPI is set to 96dpi so is that ok or not. And what other things should i set up so that my monitor works properly. Mainly im worried about the refresh rate. So can you please tell me what is the refresh rate which i set my monitor to and any other things i need to look out for.

You can use up to 1440 x 900. If you think that font is small for reading you can use 120 dpi. 96 is standard. In general if you can switch above 60 HZ you can use them also - 75 is best for you. But you must install proper driver - i.e. not plug and play monitor but exactly AOC M19W driver and in display properties it must be written AOC M19W, to be sure that all works well.

Read the LCD Manual.
LCD monitors can ONLY use one resolution and ONE refresh rate. If you change them you could damage your new monitor.
