I'm planning to buy a laptop. To use applications like Adobe Photoshop, Paintshop Pro which require extensive mouse usage, would a laptop be ok? I don't want to get an external mouse.
I don't know where the left and right mouse buttons are on laptop touchpad!

Hi, all laptops come with the scroll pad which moves the cursor around the screen and 2 separate buttons either to the side, above or beneath the pad which work as the left and right buttons that would ordinarily be on a typical mouse. Have a look in Google images for the models of laptops you are thinking of purchasing to familiarise yourself with the type of pad (or ball) that you will be working with or look at the display models in computer stores, most allow you to test the display models prior to purchase.

Also, remember that although the new laptop's buttons and pad are not familiar to you, you WILL get used to them!! I never thought I would but a few days of use and you will genuinely forget a time when you used anything else! Laptops are built for customer ease and optimal quality of results so all will be able to do what you want, just choose the right model for your requirements.

Good luck.

on laptops the left and right click are located right under the touch pad. if you are going to be using photoshop all the time then a laptop isn't the best option. it would still work but sometimes the touchpad cant keep up with all the finger movements. if you aren't planning on moving the laptop around much then just get a mouse there not that bad

Using Photoshop with a touchpad will not get you very good results. You need the precision of an external mouse.

get a tablet pc(laptop), you can use a stylus pen or device to draw on the screen like a touchscreen and no use for the finger paining mouse, and also if you arent good with keyboar shortcuts laptop's touchpad gets frustrating so invest in an additional standard desktop mouse to save time and pain

A cheap USB optical mouse is the best route to go. Touch pads are a major pain.
