if you are using Internet 7, click on tools in the top right hand corner of the screen, then click Internet options and type in whatever page you want as the homepage. then click apply

if you have Internet 6 click on the tools tab at the top of the screen somewhere and do the same thing.

Go to your preferred web site FIRST.

Then, Tools > Internet Options. On the General Tab, and click on the Use Current button.

Or drag the red "Y" favicon to the left of "http://... from the address box and drop it on the House Icon.

Scan with HijackThis It will show you the BHOs that have taking over your IE and are not letting you change. You have to pick what to delete so take caution. They will be labeled as BHO WinPatrol is a good program that will tell you when a program is trying to change your homepage, add itself to boot up when computer starts, and other system settings, then you can allow or disallow.

actually i have the same problem and the only way you can fix that is by system restore. start -> all programs -> accessories -> system tools -> system restore... beware all programs installed after the restore point will be removed but u have no choice, system restore, use fire fox or install a fresh version of windows XP..
