Just read what Islam says about other religions (www.faithfreedom.org, jihadwatch.org, danielpipes.org) for e.g. the first and basic injunction of quran says- I submit there is no GOD byt ALLAH and mohhammad is the messenger of the ALLAH (And we only blamed the "provocative" danish cartoons). And also according to ISLAM all infidels (non muslims) will be fettered and burnt in the hell fires. Could Priyanka's religion (Hinduism) be respected by Umar and his family? How can umar whose religion (islam) says such a things (and there are plenty such verses, one may find in the website i have mentined above) remain a muslim and marry a non-muslim?. Would she be accepted as a Hindu and not be forced to accept Islam by Umar and his family? All over the world there are far more Inter-religious marriges where Muslims men marry Non-Muslims women than otherwise, considering Population of muslims and non-mulsims as normalised. If true HARMONY is to prevail then muslim must Reform islam and political correctness and grand statements like "consenting Adults" wouldn't help achieve the desired intermingling between the People of all religions. Islam is facing this trend all over the world.

It is absolutely right but better it would be if they married according to the Special Marriage Act, 1954 before the marriage officer/registrar rather his converting to Hindu religion & according to Hindu form of marriage. The Special marriage Act provides for any such marriage between two Indians belonging to different religion/caste or creed & is the best from all other forms of marriage as taking place in India, the certificate issued by the marriage officer is not only valid in India but in all countries of the world & the conditions necessary for such marriage are so simple that any one can go ahead with such a marriage without any objections with regards to his or her religion or cast or creed.

Why are you asking this question? Do you really want to know if its right or wrong generally or have you already made up your mind that its wrong in your head?
Stop inciting hatred and stirring up arguments against age old issues that need to be left alone. Grow up, educate yourself. Realise that there are other, more important issues locally and globally that require more attention than silly things like his skin colour, her background, their God. You sound like an old woman who was not allowed to be happy in her youth and now sure as hell wont allow anyone else that pleasure!
Look, whatever a person does in his lifetime, the rewards and punishment will come to them. If they have gone against their families or hurt another person, it doesnt go anywhere, trust me. But leave God and their fate to decide for themselves. We are all human beings born with the power of free will, and its our privelege to make choices in life, whether right or wrong. No one else can really force or judge another person, at least not in this generation and time.

Think more about acts of charity, towards the poor, underpriveleged, illiterate who dont have the luxuries and extra time that you do to waste it on inane issues. Think about your place in life, in this world, and what you can do about it, rather than interfering in another persons life.

Let's leave them alone... They are justified in what they have done and we have no business to interfere in their personal lives. It is atrange that in this so called advances society we would not mind the boys and girls from different caste creed & religion to sleep with each other even in teenage (because we won't come to know) but we would not allow them to marry (beacuse we know)The issue is being blown out of proportion for some irrelevant reassons.

If any married partners enjoy their relationship, find mutual support, enjoy physically, have fine adjustments and trust each other, then RELEGION, CASTE are not an issue.
Thoes who criticise is because they don't have any of these with their Spouse or like to gain some personal mileage in their feild (politicians, relegious preachers etc.)

The couple should be matured enough to understand the pros and cons of a marriage like this -i.e.like respect for each other's religion, respect for elders, etc. If it is there, then there is no harm in any intercaste marriage.

The people of India are becoming tolerant and understanding of caste/creed, race ,faith and all the nasty obstacles that divide human beings. It's a working process, but I love it. Remember, God did not create religion and race, He created people and gave them free will.
