Hello,
We are going tonight and I am a "virgin". We haven't organised any costumes. Will we stand out like 2 sore thumbs?
What normal clothes are acceptable? Jeans and a jumper?

I almost got away without having to dress-up the first time I saw the movie, but I when they found out it was my first time, I had to dress-up. I was told I could dress-up as any character I wanted, but I had to be a female character, so I ended up dressing up like Columbia & I loved it too.

Are you going in Cambridge? I just wondered, as I thought it was on in Cambridge tonight!

Rocky Horror is cool... I think you will be fine in casual clothes, though it is a laugh to dress up. If you wanted something a little less outrageous (rather than suspenders and a basque), then just get a long black wig or something and lots of make up.

Have fun!

"Yawn" Yes, many people attend wearing whatever. No, dressing up and providing a capital-P Poor imitation of Curry, Sarandon, Bostwick or Meat Loaf is really not as cool as the people doing it seem to think. I'd recommend just renting the thing and watching it as home; throw rice on your own head if you think that's fun, but in the end the movie itself seems to me more entertaining without all the amateur participation.

LOts of people attended the past few times I went in casual clothing. Make sure you are wearing something that can stand a little "abuse". Could get a little wet.

Yeah, back in the day it actually used to be possible to attend screenings of the film or performances of the stage play without a bunch of idiots running up there and trying to "act along."

Just go and have a good time. Don't worry what's acceptable to wear to a gathering where some men will be wearing women's lingerie.

Better take a rain poncho. It won't hurt, not after the first time.

If you are not dressing up (and I would advise you to be as outrageous as possible) then wear either black or red.
