Has Tyra Banks Been fired or suspended?

I just wanted to know if Tyra Banks has been fired from her daytime show for using the words Nappy Head if refrence to one of her guests. If she hasn't I want to know why? Is it because she is an African American that said this? If this is the case am I to believe that as long as I am of the same race that I am speaking about it is okay? Also has Spike Lee or any Rappers been fined, suspended or fired? Equality means equal for all. If Equality is what is been searched for then all races should be fined, suspended or fired for using these terms. Until this occurs it is an injustice to fire or suspend Don Imus for something that is being done and said every day. D & G Gifts Etc

I think you make a pretty good point. I also think this should go for all races. I think that white people shouldn't use the the term "cracker" either. But the question is where is the line drawn? I have seen African-American co-workers of mine use the term "white trash" and that seems pretty acceptable to them, yet if I were to use the term "black trash" that would clearly be unacceptable.

I think that like you said if everyone were to stop using racial slurs (even if they are of the same race) then it would not be acceptable by anyone ever.

I believe that by society using the term "cracker" or "n igger" that we are keeping alive these words and what they represent, which is an awful time in our history that the majority of people are not proud of. Why would we continue to remind ourselves of this? Why do we want to continue to use this language?

I do think "nappy headed hos" was very unacceptable for him to say on radio. I believe that he should be strongly reprimanded for saying it...but I also believe that it is time that not only Caucasian people be punished for using politically incorrect speech. Why is it OK for Chris Rock to say "cracker a s s cracker" which is equivalent to a white person saying "n igger"...and no one even notices, while Imus is fired for saying "nappy headed hos."

You are right about the race thing though. If Imus was african american, and he said what he said, it would have been no big deal. Why is it that african americans can talk like that to each other, but oh my God, if someone white says something like that then it's racist? I don't have a clue. The rules work according to color I suppose.
This is definetely NOT EQUALITY..that's for sure.

Imus needed to be fired. Imus is held up nationally as a political spokesperson. He often has political guests on his program and frequently has political discussions. He represents a white majority population that in the not too distant past, horribly repressed the Black population. To allow a man like Imus to promote racism on such a forum is to allow the potential for the abject racism and repression of our past to begin to creep back into our society.

Racism is a right-wing attribute (which is quite obvious on this forum) and Imus speaks to that audience. He knew his audience would appreciate those comments and he was more than willing to cater to their racist whims. A decent society must put a man like Imus and his right-wing Archie Bunker followers in their place.

Well, there goes Oprah too.
I am beginning to think we need a pamphlet printed by a kindly black organization so white people know what is appropriate for use only by black people.
We learned for instance that the N word must now only be used in black on black conversation, now we must add nappy-headed and hos. This will prove to be invaluable as making a mistake in this area can cost a man his job and hound him for the rest of his life.
No longer will all the other colors of skin in our country listen to rap and think they can sing along, the words alone of rap music will preclude it.

Should be...Like she doesn't have enough money anyway for modeling...(SI, etc)...and frankly, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are 2 of the biggest racists there are...Frankly, Oprah is, too...They are untouched because they are black...
