I am trying to get a breast reduction and my doc sent me a letter saying that before they can submit my pre-documentation, I have to submit documentation of 3 months conservative treatment (ex: therapeutic bra, chiro care, phys therapy...) Do you have any ideas on what to submit w/o actually going through 3 mths of treatment? I don't mean like lie about it or anything, but something like unsupervised treatment such as at home excercising and weight loss, supportive bras, etc...

Have you had any physical therapy or anthing like that? If so, have those practitioners write you letters. Also, buy a therapeutic bra and copy the receipt, then return the bra. Honestly, if the insurance wants proof of 3 months of trying other options, it's not that much to ask for if they'll pay your entire surgery costs. It'd be worth it to start physical therapy for 3 months if you don't have to pay for your breast reduction surgery.

That sucks that you actually need to do that. All I had to do was complain about my back pain to the PS and my insurance had no problems approving me.

I would see if there are any other doctors that do not need that documentation (you should see at least three Plastic Surgeons before choosing one to do your surgery).
