Okay, it is probably easiest to do something that challenges social norms as this gives you leverage to raise debate and argue issues, and come up with your own discussed conculsion.
Therefore for a book I would possibly do The Bell Jar which deals with issues of mental health.
For TV programme I would do something like This Life as this raises lots of issues such as sexuality and alcoholism for example. Or you could look at something like Sopranos and how series' like that have come to compete with the movies.
For a movie I would want to do something a bit more personal to me and would perhaps do one of my favourite films. Or you could do a classic like Physco or Jaws because you can easily talk about the music and cross-cutting and the effect that has on building tension.

I'd do a review on a movie, because books and tv series take longer to watch or read, and with a movie (on DVD anyway) you can skip through to certain scenes if you wanted to analyse them in a bit more detail.

TV and Movies gonna take much longer, rewinding and forwarding just to catching the important parts aren't that fun isn't it ? :)
All the best for your reviews~!

Tv show or film, you can keep watching bits over and over to remind yourself what you are writing about, books are much harder, use something current that you really like that will make it much easier..

Go for a popular modern TV series then most will understand your references and be able to discuss them.
