on google search for "Internet Speed Test" it will take you to one of the website where you can check your Internet Speed.

50-55kb/s is definitely low speed. Note that 100.mbps is how much your computer card can transfer, it's not your internet speed.

You may check firewall and virus software but if they ok than you may want to have someone from your internet provider take a look at it. $70.00 definately deserves at least 20mbps download.

** checked your internet company's website and this is definitely too costly for speed they are giving from 3MB p/s to 6MB p/s download. You may want to find different internet provider.

Firstly, your download speeds are determined by distance from and how fast the the site is you are downloading from, not just your provider. There is only one way to get an idea of how fast your connection really is and that is to run a series of tests from different servers. Go the the site below and run 10 different tests and average them. At 70 bucks a month tho, you should average speeds of 10 to 15 mbps! If you aint, time to change providers!

mctruck, t3 connection, LOL! If you had a t3 connection, you would be payin 8 grand a month at the least! Your cable company has t3 but you dont!

The 100 Mbps is the capacity of the onboard LAN Card. Your bandwidth is what the ISP gives you.

Lemme see.

You're on a shared Satellite access, huh? Well your bandwidth, if it's downloading at 55 Kbps, is a little short of 1Mbps. I don't know if 70$ is a good price for that, but, I don't know where you're at. It's cheaper here in the US of A.

Cheers!

"100.0Mbps" is the TOP speed of your network hardware.

Your download speed sucks!

Go to www.broadbandreports.com and run their Speed Test to find out what your actual upload and download speeds really are.

Then, call Pacific Internet and they will walk you through some speed "Tweaks".
