as much as they can, they spent millions defending themselves, lost a year of school sports, etc. I think they should be able to sue Al Sharpton as he condemed them publically and he waont apologise

Here we go with the sterotyping of the 3 Duke players by the black person. Oh they are rich white boys.
Typical of a bigot no matter the skin color.
These boys parents are not rich. They had to borrow money and mortgage their houses to do what they did for their children. They took out loans like parents who want their children to succeed do when they wanted them to attend college.
They can sue the University but it would be a hard case to win. The University is protected by is rules and regulations.
They should NEVER have been charged in the first place. This was why N.C. highest attorney, the Attorney General declared them "innocent". He did NOT say that there was not enough evidence to prove the case. The Durham DA had evidence 8 DAYS before they were charged which showed they did NOT RAPE this girl. She had sperm in her and on her underwear from 5 different men. NONE of whom were the 46 Lacrosse players. These were the guys she picked out, yet she could not do it until the 3rd time around and she was not even sure about one of them and then the story started changing even before they WERE indicted.

Lets see.....369 days x 3 x 1,000,000.00. Yep that should about close Duke University down......for following the same protocol that they have used for years relating to alleged crimes by students. The one really culpable person is the DA. Mike Nifong.......No case so just try the thing in the news papers. Whether guilty or not...they will bear the burden of all that publicity until the day they die. I also do not agree with the "No charges will be filed against the accuser". If they can't prove an assault took place..where is the false reporting charge?

The first thing they should do is ask demand the Chancellor resign. After all, he made their coach resign. Then it's open season. Sue Duke, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, any major news network that ran stories of them, the Black Panthers, Crystal Gail Mangum (the "victim) and on....and on...they could go.

Mike Nifong is the guilty dog. Duke did what they had to do.
They may not get to sue anyone but laws are going to be changed here in NC. If Nifong is found guilty lawsuits could be made against the state for their part in it. Thats why Roy Cooper is kissing their butts so hard.

No they have not have been given any criminal foundation to sue Duke. They do have a criminal foundation to sue the state and city, the lady who falsely accused them, the prosecutor and specific the criminal expert commonplace.

While I agree the three were wronged, why is Duke responsible? Didn't they treat them as they would any student charged with a felony?
Do not get me wrong, I think they were treated improperly but is Duke responsible for that? To me, the only ones responsible are the police and the DA. Not even Crystal, the accuser. She couldn't even pick any of them out of line up. The police and DA pushed this fraudulent case. The accuser isn't off free of charge, why isn't she charged with making a false police report?
