And even if all of the ice on the planet melts the sea level will rise only a mere seven inches. OHHHH I'm so scared!!

When boiling water to make pasta some people put salt in the water - why? Because salt retains heat which makes the water warmer and so it boils faster.

A 65 kilometer square chunk of ice just broke off an ice-shelf in the arctic last November - the largest ever. It floated around the arctic - endangering fishing boats and wildlife etc but also was a clear indication of the problem of global warming.

Add to that the breaking up of the Larsen B ice shelf in Antarctica and you have more fresh water being dumped into our salt water oceans.

If the level of salt in our oceans is lowered far enough, our oceans will no longer be able to sustain the same temperature. When our oceans drop in temperature by more than 5 degrees, we could end up in an ice age.

It is not close to happening now - but with two HUGE chunks of ice-shelf (not just ice) having cracked off their respective poles, it indicates quite clearly that this is a global issue and provides us with a warning as to what could happen if we sit by and watch - as would those who think only of their pocketbooks and the extent of their own lives.

Try thinking of the lives of those who come after us...if that means nothing to you please never have kids.

You betcha, in a heart beat,

You see you are not dealing with democrats over this issue, at least not real ones, you are dealing with communists and socialists who love nothing better than to see americas economy collapse, get these people out of congress soon or they could succeed.

The whole warming think is just the crisis du jour, it is not real and only paranoid delusionals believe it, the others that are pushing for it make money on it like algore

The next one is healthcare. We already have national healthcare, anyone who needs care can go to ANY ER in the USA and get care, the best in the world, and it makes no difference if you can pay, the hospitals already have it factored in to their cost structure.

You're exaggerating--Overall, the total average annual temperature increase in the last century is so slight the actual amount is uncertain-- maybe 1/3° C.

Temperatures have gone through nearly two complete cycles of warming and cooling over the last 100 years. During the period 1900 to 1940 temperatures were increasing. Then from 1940 to 1975 temperatures were decreasing. Currently, temperatures are increasing back to about where they were in the 1930's.

Let's kill the economy--because it makes us look good (like fools) in the eyes of China, Russia and India--the countries who will 'win' when we collapse. Besides......it is sooo in vogue to be so PC about global warming.

Aside from that Gore (and Kerry) are also making millions off the hysteria. Gore owns a company selling carbon credits.......lol!

No one wants to "kill the economy". You're doing nothing but sputtering extremist garbage about what you assume democrats/liberals think. I doubt you've even met one. Since when were conservatives against taking precautions? You honestly can't label democrats as the "danger party" when you're willing to do nothing about a potentially massive problem.

As to killing the economy. Where is the majority of our current money going? And who exactly is spending that money? Last I checked, Democrats have only been in congress for 4 months.. Whereas republicans were for what? 10 years? Maybe that's why we have a failing economy.

Good point. Not only that we are spending so much money on its research, but rabid supporters in Washington are laying the groundworks for a massive consumption tax and mandates for expensive, untested "environment-friendly" products. This will ultimately hurt the poor and middle class, the very people of which these lawmakers claim to be champions.

actually if all the ice in the worlds melts the sea level will raise 32 feet. That means my town and house are underwater and most of the nations coastal industry is currently destoryed meaning most of the countries industry. So their merely following benjamin franklin's teaching. A stich in time saves nine.

If they could, they would talk treason, (not that theyre skimming that subject now). They not only want to kill our economy, but our ENTIRE way of life. They will not rest until they make us a socialist or muslim country. For those of you who are offended by this statement, prove me different.

The majority of their constituency are welfare loafers and drug addicts on SSI Disability so a struggling economy will be no consequence to them since their political base lives off the largess of big government.
