After the world cup India have not played any tournament. The next schedule for Indian team is the tour to Bangladesh where they willm play 2 test matches and 3 one day internations. The Team for Bangladesh Tour is expected to be announced on 20th April, 2007.

While many of the seniors including Sachin Tendulkar are not expected to be in theb Bangladesh Tour, that cannot be considered as end of their carreer as players for the future matches will be selected based on the performance of the players in the Bangladesh tour.

Because the other players do not have cofidence in them to play with out Sachin on one hand and on the other hand he performed so well in the past that the Board wants to honour him by giving more and more chances. Sachin himself whould have created example for taking decision to retire timely.

Sachin is in team beacause he is a very good player. Definitely he needs some rest. i am sure he will be back with a bang.

its a known fact that he is the richest cricketer in this world. richness can buy anything, and more over, no body have the guts to throw this 4 foot outside. but the probability is that he may not be playing for the bangladesh tour. he may stick around for another year, with his broken hands and legs striking singles and getting 20's and 30's

He needs a break that is for sure. Time to groom someone in 20 20 atleast. Should not continue for long in ODI's and tests also. His reflex has slowed down same thing that has happened to Kris Srikant , Shewag, Ganguly. Father time spares no one

if it is just about being good on papers,then all the players would be retained in the team.there would be no retirement for any player.in such situations they would p;ay cricket till they are 50 or even till they die!
