Congressional pay seems to exceed long term inflationary rates...

Who would like to see the Federally mandated minimum wage directly "locked" to Congressional pay [as a percentage point] so that every time congress wants extra compensation they will not forget the working persons pay?

Any takers?

Personally, I think Congress should be paid the minimum wage. And, even then, they would be over-paid.

Yes. Congressional should also be like mostly jobs. You don't show up for work you get no pay. If you miss too many work days you should get a write up. Then later they should get fired for not calling off for a good reason like being sick.

Congressional raises are tied to the cost of living.Years ago they were clever enough to write the law enabling their annual raises to state that they would get these raises unless they were voted down. This actually has happened a couple of times. But their raises are by percentage.1% of 150,000 is 1500.1% of $5.15 is 5.15 cents per hr.,or $107.12 per year.Po' folks still aren't keeping up.

That is a great idea. It is sickening that congress votes itself raises and Cost Of Living Adjustments, but squabbles over fifty cents per hour for the working poor.

No, that would be too simplified.

Minimum wage should be tied to the value of the work produced

Now of course I believe the same should be applied to Congress,,,,,,,,,,so that means they owe us a boat load of money.

Sounds like a good idea. How about throwing in some healthcare for the poor people too!

Being a congressman should count as community service.

I think it's a great idea. Let's make it mandatory for their golden parachute retirements too.
