I'm a 'leftie', yes I know that sounds like a 'commie' to most Americans, a word still not to be used in the USA.
There certainly is a lot of 'whinge' going on in the UK, no matter which Party is in power, but it's great to be able to do do that, it's called 'democracy' ! Now that's a word USA does use a lot.
I'm not going to generalise here and say all Americans are this that or the other, because I know you are all different, I have many American friends they don't all think the same way as each other.
As for your point on our being bribed with state benefits, we actually pay for our state benefits, not only do we pay our own, but we also pay towards those among us that cant afford to pay, we dont turn folk away from hospitals if they have no insurance, I couldnt even imagine a situation like that.
If you think we are 'bribed' with these services, where do you think our govt' get this money from to pay for the services?
I couldnt care less who gives advise or who accepts it, at the end of the day we collectively elect whatever Party and we get what we vote for, (look what you got)!! Same as you really except it seems to me that the guy with the most money to play with gets the most votes in USA?
I have no wish to go into the pro's and con's between the American and British way of life, we arent really all that different!
In the very unlikely event of the Labour Party being voted out in our next general election, and a right wing looney mob take over, I will show you what a British 'whinge' is really all about!
It's great to be able to do that dont you think??
Surely you dont really believe that no one in the UK tries to change govt' policy, we do it through the usual democratic channels, via our MP, you think we should have an armed revolution? If it really comes to it we will!!!
Now that I think on it a bit, we never hear much in the UK about American mass protests, are you frightened of being classed as some sort of commies????
Most Brits that I know have never ever met any Americans , but apart from the usual banter I am pretty certain we get along well, and I see no reason why this should ever change.
I worked in Saudi for Westinghouse some time back, and at the time my boss was a real right wing American, we used to debate the subject of left wing v's right wing, (very loudly) I was on the subject of the rights of the working man , he was having a little fit, he said "Britian should be shut down, all you commies and union men should be shot, the whole place should be turned into a Disney World, where we can come and see how the Brits used to strike every day"!!!
I laughed my 'little cotton socks off', he really meant it!!!
Amen

The British people know that Blair is a liar and a fool. Which is why Blair is almost universally hated. If you asked people in the streets what they thought of him you'd be lucky to find 1 in 50 which thought he was a good leader - and why equally idiotic people like Cameron and Brown are popular, cause there's no alternative.
As for "bribing us with benefits" how about you content yourself with your so very hard earnt American wage, your so very terrible American public services and your so very unfair American tax system - and keep your nose out of things that don't concern you. At all. Do you pay British taxes? Then why are you complaining that we have high taxes to pay for free public services which SOCIETY (now there's a foreign word) needs and indeed deserves?
If 'whinging' (I wouldn't call the largest protest in British history a whinge, but that's semantics I guess) is not an effective strategy, what do you suggest? Blind obedience? Bloody revolution?
Blair may have given bad advice. He may have been power hungry and desperate for a legacy. But that doesn't mean Bush had to listen to him. "All the other kids were doing it" is not an excuse for a 7 year old child, nor should it be the excuse for the most powerful man on Earth.

Hey this was the deal:
1) Jews funded Blair and gave him a favourable press through the Jewish onwned media.
2) Bush made oil money
3) Jews continue to terrorise the middle east
4) America cancelled ww2 debt for the UK
5) 650000 Iraqi's die
5) 2 million Iraqi's are displaced
6) The world is in a permanent state of nausea
Oh and the jewish owned banks and financial institutions probably agreed to lend the US more money or something coz the economy was not good (US money they stole)

I'm happy to criticise the Labour Party for not removing Blaire when it became clear, to one and all, that he was a right-wing cuckoo in a left-wing nest. Frankly I am embarrassed that a British Prime Minister, of any hue, should have been willing to give his backing to the invasion of Iraq, when anyone who had ever opened a history book knew how it was going to end. I was out there on the streets demonstrating to try and prevent the invasion; I wonder, were you?

it is not in simple terms in Haiti and China. nutrition expenditures right here interior the U. S. have skyrocketed interior the final various weeks. that's as a results of 3 distinctive factors. a million. gas expenditures: each and every thing comes into your community grocery with the aid of way of a truck. commercial diesel expenditures are greater even than gas, even tho diesel demands much less refining than gas. no longer in simple terms are the oil companies gouging vehicle drivers, they're *truly* gouging the truckers. 2. Farm subsidies: Farmers are paid *no longer* to advance vegetation. the government. demands them to permit a definite quantity of acreage to lie fallow, to circumvent "glutting the industry with product" and "to maintain expenditures of yankee grain aggressive with the international industry". 3. climatic circumstances: there has been flooding in specific areas of the country, which likely destroyed many vegetation. i became into in my small community grocery the day previously at present. I asked the save proprietor if he estimated expenditures coming returned off any in any respect. each and every thing has extra suitable in fee interior the previous few weeks. In my save, many products went up one total greenback in line with merchandise interior of a week. A pound of coffee went from $4.ninety 9 to 5.ninety 9 in one day. A can of vegetable shortening went from 3.ninety 9 to 4.ninety 9. A bag of flour that must be had a month in the past for $0.ninety 9 is now almost $3.00. My grocer stated he would not anticipate *something* going on in fee. i'm preparing to start my very own small farm. i'm gonna purchase 2 calves, some chickens, plant a vegetable backyard, and attempt to verify how self sustaining i will substitute into. i won't discover the money for those grocery expenditures *and* the cost of gas.

Maybe because Britain has overcome many terrorist attacks America cant come to terms with one without starting a war and invading another country who had nothing to do with 9/11 Blair was probably hoping to show Bush the diplomatic British way instead of the kill, bomb, annihilate that's the American way and not very successful either.

As long as you realise there are those that call themselves English rather than British and they dont all agree with the PM.
Maybe all Americans are oil loving, loud mouthed, egomaniacs, maybe not, but it would not do good to generalise.
Which brits are you referring to in particular?
