One degree Celsius (centigrade) is equal to 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit. But the two scales don't start at the same point, i.e. 0°C isn't the same as 0°F.

To convert from C to F you need to multiply by 1.8 then add 32.

To convert from F to C you need to deduct 32 then divide by 1.8.

From Celcius to Fahrenheit
°C = (°F − 32) × (5/9)

You use an algebraic concept called a function.

In this case, the function is:

(Deg in Celcius) + 32 * 9/5 = (Deg in Farenheit)

Hope this helps!
