Beekeeping (or apiculture, from Latin apis, a bee) is the practice of intentional maintenance of honey bee colonies, commonly in hives, by humans. A beekeeper (or apiarist) may keep bees in order to collect honey and beeswax, or for the purpose of pollinating crops, or to produce bees for sale to other beekeepers. A location where bees are kept is called an apiary.

They are called beekeepers as the other posters said and I found a very interesting site that talks about beekeeping, and this particular one tells about what exactly they do:

I almost learned how to become a beekeeper when I was a kid but the community college that was going to offer the classess had to cancel them because there wasn't enough people to take the class. I would love to learn how to do it some day.
