Friend,

I am glad that you have some concern for the Blind people.

I have been in close contact with some blind persons, and my family doctor's wife is the principal of the School for the blind ,where I live in Andra Pradesh,India.I used to see her compassionate and very kind dealing with those unfortunate brothers of us all.
I asked many so many questions politely without hurting them how the lead their life, their emotions and about their dreams etc.
they all said occasionally they too dream in deep sleep. But they said they don't see any shapes, but some colours which they could not say exactly what they are. Some colours made them feel happy and some feel unhappy.some said the saw some shapes, but failed to describe what exactly are they...their narration leads us to no where.
I have read in Books too, that Blind People DO DREAM...But they see colours only....that is what I read and what I heard from them.
There are very gifted persons in the Blind.God Bless them all.

Let me make it clear that Eyes do not see dreams. It is the mind that sees it. And Blind person sees more dreams than a normal person with eyes, because his imaginations are more wilder than a normal person.

The question is wrong, it should be "can a blind can hear a dream?" They can feel the talks in a dream.

I asked a friend who was blind this same thing. He sad that he could see some colors. I think he lost his sight at age 5. I guess they could see things the way they imagined them to be. I am sure they have mental pictures are what a chair looks like from there feel and descriptions.

A man doesn't dream by his eyes. He dreams abt his hopes, future, his feelings. If a person is blind then it doesn't mean that he is away from his mind & life.

when a person dreams, their eyes are basically "turned off", the dream images (images is not the best term to use but will have to do) are a fabrication of the mind. Dreaming is in the mind, we can only describe them as "seeing" dreams

I don't know. If he could see once before he would most likely retain those memories but if he's always been blind how could he know the difference, maybe they dream in shades & sound.
